It’s Officially Fall: A Wardrobe Shift

It’s officially Fall 2017. The steamy hot weather is slowly subsiding as the days are becoming shorter and evenings longer. This time of the year in my part of the country can be July hot one day and chilly the next.

Fall breezes can be sneaky as the upcoming winter season makes it’s way ahead of summer. Not to mention going in and out of public buildings where they have not adjusted the thermostat as the season is changing.

If you are not careful to adjust your wardrobe accordingly, the temperamental fall breeze can cause unexpected sinus congestion and little colds. To help me and my daughter’s bodies adjust to unexpected weather changes during this time of the year, I slightly modify our wardrobe with light long sleeve tops or soft cardigans that can be un-layered when the day warms up.

For this look I went with a very lightweight long sleeve top and accessorized with a silk scarf around my neck. The blush, blue and gray tones kept the look fresh for daytime and the puffy sleeves are elegant for evening affairs.

Scarves are always spot on for me. If I keep my neck warm, I can often avoid getting a cold. Since it’s still too warm to wear anything heavy, I wear light silk scarves instead.

I really, enjoy these slacks. They are stretch jeans with a leather texture and they are really comfortable.

As the weather shifts, be sure to check your weather app first thing in the morning or for the week to plan your wardrobe. Nevertheless, always keep a light sweater at your desk and in the car in case you need to layer up as needed.
