Simple Ways to Add Color to Your Winter Wardrobe

As the cold weather sets in, you can easily recognize it’s a dormant season for anything bright and colorful unless you live in the tropics. Most clothing stores primarily carry pieces in mute tones since colorful wear is typically synonymous with spring and summer.

Regardless, I am on a quest this winter to find the trendiest colors around. Even If I find a beautiful piece that is trending in style, I likely pass if it lacks color.

Of course, I have basic muted tones that I keep on hand, but I always like to take it up a notch with a splash of color in anything. Accessories are a good way to make a look pop. So, don’t feel like wearing bold colors all over is the only way to go.

When I found this hot pink eyelash sweater by Lou & Grey, I quickly added it to my wardrobe. It’s so beautiful and bright that I used darker colors to blend it perfectly. Although I like color, I always like to keep a balance with style and sophistication.

Black ALWAYS brings perfect harmony when wearing bright colors. A little goes along way. I also like to play with textures. Fur, glitter, polka dots, wool and metallic works so well together in this look.

I never accidentally stumble up beautiful colors in the winter when shopping and pass on buying it if it’s at a price point I am willing to pay. So I keep a padded shopping budget for such cases 😊.

Don’t go for the status quo this winter. Add a little or lots of color to your wardrobe. You can wear a fully muted color outfit and add brighter colors with a clutch, scarf or fashion ring. I can guarantee you the difference is noticeable and memorable.
