Orders for a Spicy Beef Stew

My daughter is true to the term “African American”. I am American and her dad is from Ghana, West Africa. At 3 months old, her grandmother arrived from Ghana to spend six months with us in our home to support us adjusting to our new norm as parents. I was very reluctant initially, but later grew fund of the company.

During that time, my daughter’s palette got introduced to the spices and savory flavors of Ghanaian cuisine. Although her dad and I are divorced, she still makes regular requests for authentic Ghanaian dishes. Maybe it’s genes, memory, or both, but she has regular cravings for the combined spices of ginger and habaneros, blended with tomatoes and onions, the basic blend for most traditional Ghanaian dishes.

Lately, my daughter requested a beef stew with gari, boiled eggs, and bit of avocado to cool her tongue. This was my opportunity to keep my skills sharp and affirm her being a little African as well. To say the least, the meal rocked!
