Three Easy Ways To Help My Moms Feel Special On Mother’s Day and All Year Long

Mother's Day Self-care ideas

Everyone is ramping up for Mother’s Day weekend and brainstorming how they will show moms in their life appreciation.
Of course, I want mine too, but I’m big on being valued and appreciated after the annual holiday is over. That is where I get intentional about taking care of myself and allowing myself to be taken care of at various points throughout the year. Here are a few activities I enjoy on a regular basis to feel good and valued.

Weekly Selfcare

Yeap, I do something for myself every single week. What I do to treat myself is super simple, but it matters.
Besides, it doesn’t take much to make us moms blush and feel refreshed.

I like to grab my gigantic umbrella and go on walks in the rain. In the evenings, I take an essential oil and Epsom salt bath. I am also known to go to a nice restaurant by myself.
And, depending on my budget, I order a fancy Latte or appetizer.

Monthly Girlfriend Meetups

Meeting up with girlfriends is everything to me. We get to catch up and be grown. We say what we want to say about anything and everything; without restraints and guilt-free.
It is very therapeutic to spend time away with friends and bounce ideas or concerns off one another.

Quarterly Mommy Solo Trips

Lately, I’ve decided to take mommy solo trips once every quarter. It is the BEST thing ever. I take a few days alone or with a good friend to get refreshed. It is my time to care less. Once, I booked a weekend playdate for my daughter and checked myself into a hotel 12 miles down the road. That weekend, I tried new restaurants I’d been waiting to try and did some shopping for myself.

Once the weekend was over, I came home recharged and missed by my daughter. Both of us needed some time apart. Now mommy trips are a thing for me, and I highly recommend them.

o enjoy all the flowers this weekend but keep your momentum of feeling special by getting time to do something special for yourself regularly. Take the lead and make sure you get time to refresh and renew.
Happy Mother’s Day
