Staying Warm and Funky in Winter

Winter has typically been my least favorite season for being fashionable. While shivering uncontrollably, my main thought is getting to a warm cozy place and avoiding any suggestion to feel a breeze. However, it’s impossible to avoid being outdoors with an active 9-year-old. With that encouragement, I discovered how to be cozy and chic without sacrificing my fashion sense.

Layers, Layers, Layers!!!

Good old fashion layers are classic. I start my layering with a camisole then a long sleeve top that’s fitted to avoid bulkiness and keep a tailored look as I add on the main layers. Fitted tops are not expensive. They can be any long sleeve cotton top that a sweater or blouse can be worn tactfully over it.

Scarves…..

Scarves add style like no one’s business, not to mention oversized ones that can function as a cape. I like to build a scarf stash starting in the summer for ridiculously low prices and add new ones during the colder months.

Texture……

Texture adds interest and flare. The sequins’ texture in this look adds glamour to the casual bellbottom denim jeans.  The scarf also shows off incredible texture with a soft rubbery feel. The blazer is velvet with a bit of stretch for the perfect fit.

Color……

Color connects all the dots to every piece of your winter wardrobe. I went all out with a orange fur bag that flips the switch on color. You can add any piece with color to your wardrobe for a pop.

Don’t let the cold weather trap you inside and settle for boring frumpy outfits. Layer up with oh so cute fabulous pieces for a holistic winter chic style.
