The Thanksgiving tablescape is my favorite of all table settings because there are no hard fast rules for what makes the perfect table. Instead, this holiday table setting pays compliment to who’s coming to dinner and how best everyone will enjoy the meal together. This year, I have decided to keep my table decor under $100, and here’s how I am doing it.

Add Fresh Seasonal Fruits as Part of your Thanksgiving Tablescape

Adding vibrant seasonal produce as a part of the table’s centerpiece is a simple and cost-effective way to liven up your table. In particular, figs, persimmons, pomegranates, blood oranges, and muscadines are a few of those autumn treats that can be featured on this year’s Thanksgiving tablescape. Seasonal produce is also more inviting than porcelain decorative objects on the table.

Mix-n-Match your Glassware

Don’t be quick to run out and purchase everything new to make your entire table match perfectly. Consider mixing and matching glassware. Besides, not everyone will have the same drink preference. Some of your guests may want water, or juice, and even different types of wines. So it’s ok if you serve drinks from different types of glasses based on what each guest is drinking. That way you don’t need to purchase new glassware to make them all match.

Shop for Vintage Dinnerware

Pull out your family china or shop vintage pieces at your local thrift store to close any gaps in placing settings for guests. Vintage pieces add a lot of character and charm to your table even with a modern theme. I can’t tell you the number of times I have scouted the most beautiful and quality brand dinnerware for my Thanksgiving tablescape at my local thrift store. I choose pieces that are not visibly worn or still brand new. Otherwise, have family members share heirloom chinaware. Even if you use a piece or two as serving dishes. You can also thrift unique candle votives or vases.

Shop Featured Home Decor Brands at Target and Walmart

Some of my new favorite home design brands are featured at Target and Walmart. From stoneware to porcelain, featured brands like Hearth & Hand, Studio McGee, Cravings by Christine Teigen and Better Homes & Gardens, etc. have a plethora of options and price ranges to stay within budget. There are modern, and traditional selections to choose from. After shopping around I decided on these plates from Target by Hearth & Hand. Everything else here is from my stash of napkins and glasses collected over time. But I provide several options for you to choose from at various price points. You can pick any pieces you feel you are missing or want to purchase.

I could not get my eye off of this ceramic vase from Walmart for the longest time and finally grabbed it one day. It is the perfect fit for these dried grasses I picked up for 50% off at Hobby Lobby.
