How to Plan for the Year: How I Am Making My 2021 Goal Setting Epic

Happy 2021 friends! I know everyone is excited to get a fresh restart and kick 2020 to the curveee!! Political drama, a pandemic, and race wars wore us all out emotionally. What a fiasco!

That means this year has to be genuinely epic. No, for real!! If you do not decide something will happen, it will not. So, here are a few ways I am tightening the notch in my life belt to hit milestones in 2021.

Dream bigger

That’s right, I am taking more time to think about what I truly want. Subconscious planning that keeps me steady at my current momentum is no longer enough. Neither will overall generic goal-setting. Moreover, here’s how I am planning out the year.

I realized in 2020 that whenever I wrote and tracked project related tasks, I saw whatever I wrote. Yes, I was happy, but these goals were way too small. So I am putting myself on a challenge to dream bigger at the higher end of my goals and not the lower.

Be more specific

This one is heavy because being specific is HARD. How do you know what you want specifically if you never experienced it? So I am deciding to get as close to my goals in my imagination as possible. That means, scheduling quiet time and imagining what it would feel like to possess my dreams. It also means researching to get visuals of what I want from other people who are already enjoying it. Then write down as many details as I possibly can.

Speak It

With bigger clearer goals, adding my voice of authority to the mix will propel the manifestation of what I want. So I am building my confidence and speaking what I want insistently more than I ever have.

Act like I have it

Behaving like you have something that you have not experienced is pure bravery and you have to be creative. I have often heard successful people say, they were not surprised when they saw their dreams come to pass. They saw themselves there so many times before. Time and time again they behaved as though their goal was already real. So I am getting creative with my behavior to be consistent with my goals.

I believe these few steps will make 2021 epic. It’s not magic and it will take hard work. But the alternative is not an option for me. So here we go. Ready seat go!! Happy New Year!
